Champagne, strawberries and socialising – all the ingredients you need to celebrate the summer ahead. Happily, expert ‘nose’ and luxury perfumer Roja Dove has captured the social whirl in the new Roja Parfums Bon Bon Candle (€99, roja parfums.com). Containing an essential oil from wine sediment, it comes with a sense of sparkle and sweetness – so you will smell summer in the air, whatever the weather brings. Some women start with the dress. Others begin with their shoes. But when pondering what to wear to a glamorous summer wedding, I thought I’d draw inspiration from my new favourite makeup shades – and the effortless elegance of actress Charlize Theron (left). What tempted my decision was Tom Ford’s collection – a range of pinks, corals, burnished coppers and dazzling golds. I will prep my skin with the Bronzing Gel (€44) for a sheer, sun-kissed glow. Then I’ll swirl and blend Soleil Contouring Compact in Soleil Afterglow (above left, €90) on to my cheeks to make skin come alive. Wary of looking overdone or cakey in the sun, I’ll wash a trace of the golden shades from the Sheer Highlighting Duo in Reflects Gilt (above right, €67, all brownthomas.com) over my lids – and then pack it in my clutch to apply wet later on for a more intense, gilded look on the dancefloor.
