- By Laura Butler Showbusiness Editor

IF 2fm DJ Jenny Greene wasn’t enjoying the holiday of a lifetime already, then she is now after proposing to her partner Kelly Keogh.

The broadcaster, 32, who coanchors a weekday slot alongside former Westlife singer Nicky Byrne, revealed over the weekend that she and Ms Keogh are set to wed.

The couple have been together for three years and walked the red carpet together for the first time in December 2 0 1 4 , when t hey attended the People of the Year Awards. Jenny took a call from her colleague Byrne yesterday after announcing the happy news that she and will tie the knot.

‘We got a great laugh this morning – it must be a slow news day.

‘You’ll have to dust off your suit’

We’re having a great time – you’ll have to dust off your suit now,’ she told father- of-three Byrne of the reaction to their engagement.

Ahead of the marriage equality referendum in May, Ms Greene admitted she was ‘not allowed’ to discuss it in any interviews because she worked at RTÉ.

However, she told the RTE Guide that she ‘definitely would’ like to walk down the aisle. ‘I’m not saying that if the marriage referendum goes through that we would get engaged the following day, but I would like to know that I can,’ she said in the interview in March.

‘I would love to get married in Ireland. I am not a big campaigner and I don’t go out and march. But I think anybody should be allowed to get married if they want to,’ she said at the time. ‘I don’t have a problem if someone else wants to get married so I don’t understand why they should have a problem with what I do.

‘I know some straight couples who don’t ever want to get married and that’s okay too. But I do think that it is wrong that someone can decide that I can’t get married.’

When Byrne asked Jenny yester- day to reveal how the proposal happened, the host insisted she was keeping details of her and Ms Keogh’s engagement under wraps, but said she would tell him off air.

The brunette is also keeping mum on revealing any wedding plans, only saying that the bash could take place ‘at home or abroad’.

She did however ask ex-pop star Byrne to sing at the nuptials. Jenny said: ‘I have a gentleman friend who will sing a song for us and he’s very pretty. I’m giving you plenty of time to rehearse the song... we’ll think of a special one.’

Ms Greene however ruled out any magazine deal for the nuptials. ‘We’ll stick to ourselves – I won’t be taking any phones off people as they arrive or anything,’ she said.
