18 killed by car bomb in Syria
A CAR bomb in Syria has killed at least 18 rebels, including the commander of a US-backed armed opposition group.
The bomb exploded in the southern village of Asheh, in the Quneitra province, killing at least 18 fighters, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Quneitra-based opposition activist Abu Omar al-Golani put the toll at 20, including the commander of the Syria Revolutionaries Front, Captain Abu Hamza al-Naimi. He said the blast went off when several commanders were meeting at the group’s office in Asheh.
