Iranian building collapse kills 30
AT LEAST 30 firefighters were killed when a burning high-rise building collapsed in the capital of Iran yesterday, reports say.
Another 75 people were injured when the disaster struck the Plasco building in central Tehran, state media reported. Firefighters, soldiers and other emergency responders dug through the rubble, looking for survivors.
Firefighters had battled the blaze for several hours before the collapse of the 17-storey building. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has ordered an investigation into the cause of the incident.
