Angry Jose still going bananas over lack of support for United

- By JACK GAUGHAN

JOSE MOURINHO delivered a devastating attack on the Premier League, claiming the country’s elite clubs are not supported when they play in Europe. The Manchester United manager, whose team were paired with Anderlecht in yesterday’s Europa League quarter-final draw, has been enraged at scheduling all season but now appears at breaking point after Paul Pogba’s hamstring injury against Rostov on Thursday night. United face Middlesbrough at noon tomorrow and Mourinho fumed: ‘They don’t give an “S” about English teams in Europe. They simply don’t care. In other countries they try to give support to the teams in Europe. We go Sunday at 12 o’clock. Why? Why us? Why don’t we play five o’clock? ‘We should play Monday or we should play the last match on Sunday. At least let us sleep a little bit on Sunday, right? We have to wake up at seven o’clock to eat and come to the game. Even a physical monster like Paul felt it. I think in England it’s a little bit... “he gets millions, let him run. If it breaks, it breaks — he’s insured. No problem”. If they are happy with having one English club in the Champions League and one club in the Europa League... wow!’ During United’s clash with Rostov, defender Marcos Rojo was seen eating a banana and Mourinho added: ‘For some the banana story was a funny situation. ‘I did not think it was a funny situation. I don’t think it’s funny that some of our players have played 11 matches in six weeks. On Thursday some of them — like Marcos — were at their limit.’
