I’m so happy for her: Cheryl’s old Girls Aloud rival Nadine wishes her well

SHE’S about to become the third member of Girls Aloud to welcome a child and even though pregnant Cheryl, 33, has received plenty of motherhood tips from close former bandmate Kimberley Walsh, estranged member Nadine Coyle has so far kept her distance.

But that all changed this week when the former X Factor judge received a very public message of support in Nadine’s interview with OK! magazine.

The Derry singer, 31, wished Cheryl well and said she was very happy that her fellow girlband star was starting a family – despite not having seen Cheryl for a ‘really long time’.

She said: ‘I’m very, very happy for her and very, very excited.’

The mother of one – who has a daughter, Anaíya, with American football player Jason Bell – admitted it’s been a while since the girls have actually crossed paths.

‘I haven’t seen [Cheryl] in a long time,’ she said. ‘I really, really haven’t.’

She and Cheryl reportedly fell out when Girls Aloud parted ways several years ago. While Nadine, pictured above left with Cheryl, had claimed she hadn’t been a part of the band’s decision to break up, Cheryl hit back that Girls Aloud’s three-year hiatus in 2009 had been driven by Nadine’s desire to go solo.

The five-piece reunited in 2012 for their ten-year anniversary before confirming they had split for good a year later.

It was widely thought that Nadine was the best singer of the group and she had solo ambitions. However, her solo career has failed to take off.

Cheryl and her boyfriend, One Direction star Liam Payne, 23, have not said a word in public about the pregnancy, but Cheryl finally confirmed she is expecting last month.

Cheryl had even sought to avoid photographers in recent months but she finally revealed her very prominent baby bump in recent weeks in a charity photoshoot.

And in the lead-up to her due date, it has been suggested that Cheryl may take a career break so she can be a stay-at-home mum.

Liam, meanwhile, has been gushing about his pregnant girlfriend and described Cheryl in a recent interview as his ‘dream girl’.

He told Rollacoaster magazine: ‘Obviously I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world and she’s absolutely amazing.

‘She’s been my dream girl since I was younger. She’s so ace.’

The couple first went public with their relationship in February 2016, but are said to have started dating in secret a few months prior.
