Scarlett hits back at ex over bringing their daughter into their break-up

-

THE catalyst for the breakdown of their marriage was hinted at in a statement revealing he was ‘tired’ of living in her shadow.

Now Scarlett Johansson appears to have taken a swipe at her estranged husband Romain Dauriac during a television interview.

The Avengers actress, pictured right, was a guest on Lorraine yesterday to discuss her new sci-fi film, Ghost In The Shell.

Seemingly referencing her ex’s jibe that he was sick of following her to film sets with their daughter, Rose, Scarlett insisted that it was important for her child to see her as an ‘independent woman’ at work.

She explained: ‘I am so proud to do and I love to do and to be able to show my daughter that and have her come to the workplace, and show her I’m an independent woman making it happen is very important for me.’

The quip comes after a statement released by Dauriac’s lawyers revealed he had been blindsided by the divorce, and added: ‘Mr Dauriac is tired of having to run his life and his child’s life based on Ms Johansson’s shooting schedule.’

Scarlett, 32, went on to discuss equality between the sexes in film – and took another shot at US president Donald Trump.

Speaking about the global marches on the day of his inauguration, she said: ‘It’s important to know the women’s march was not against Trump it was basically a march for women to highlight that we are a very strong force to be reckoned with.

‘I think people in general can sometimes forget that their rights are not given, you have to fight for and continue to protect for the rights to your body and equal fair pay and they are important to highlight.

‘The gender bias does exist. We need to stand together to highlight that imbalance. As a woman, as a feminist, as a mother it was important for me to be there.’

The interview is one of the first since her ex implored her to withdraw her divorce filing for the sake of their toddler daughter.

Scarlett filed for divorce from Dauriac in a New York City court earlier this month, saying the marriage was ‘irretrievably broken’.

Blindsided by the move, the Frenchman said that he wants to keep the divorce out of the courts and go back to the negotiating table. ‘It is indeed unfortunate, especially for our daughter, that Scarlett filed in court and made our personal differences so public,’ he said.

Dauriac’s lawyer, Hal Mayerson, claims the former couple were in the middle of private talks when Scarlett suddenly made the move to file.

Scarlett is asking for joint custody of Rose, but wants the child to live with her. Dauriac wants to take her to France.
