Mother of three died waiting for friend’s children

-

A SCHOOL receptionist who was ‘adored’ by her three daughters was killed in the attack as she went to pick up a friend’s children, relatives said yesterday.

Jane Tweddle-Taylor, 51, above, had been out for dinner with her friend in the city centre before the pair went to collect the children from the concert.

The divorced mother of three, pictured above, died in the blast. Her friend and her children were uninjured.

Mrs Tweddle-Taylor, from Blackpool, Lancashire, was looking forward to going on holiday to Berlin with her three daughters Harriet, 24, Lily, 22, and Isabelle, 20, next week.

The girls had bought their mother, who worked at South Shore Academy in Blackpool, the trip as a Christmas present. A friend said: ‘Jane didn’t look her age, some people would see her and the girls together and think she was an older sister. They were very close.’

Mrs Tweddle-Taylor’s ex-husband, Mark Taylor, a former professional football player and physiotherapist, said that he, Harriet and Isabelle searched the hospitals for their mother before they were given the heartbreaking news that she was among the dead. Lily had been travelling in Australia and has since returned home.

Mr Taylor, 52, said: ‘Jane was a very, very lovely lady and a very good mother to [our] three daughters.

‘She was liked by everybody, especially in her community in Blackpool where she worked.’
