THE WINE LIST
Three worthy bottles every week – for three different budgets
EXQUISITE COLLECTION LIMESTONE COAST CHARDONNAY €8.49, ALDI Australian Chardonnay. Unoaked, it delivers clean, pure, fresh fruit – think peach and tangy pineapple. Aged on its yeast lees, it’s creamy, buttery, with a crisp finish.
CHATEAU LA BARONNERIE €12, SUPERVALU A lush red from Bordeaux’s less well known Cotes de Blaye and old, lowyielding Merlot vines with a little Cabernet. Complex, soft and very approachable, it makes a lovely claret for steak. Seductive.
TIM ADAMS THE FERGUS €15.99, TESCO Complex red from Australia’s Clare Valley. Unusually, it’s made from Grenache, Tempranillo and Malbec and aged in French and American oak for two years. Succulent, spicy and properly long.
