The Prices are definitely right for a shot at X Factor glory

-

TWO Irish teens are being tipped as potential winners of this year’s X Factor after wowing the judges in scenes shown over the weekend. The Price brothers Seán, 17, and 15-year-old Conor, from Blessington, Co. Wicklow, have been busking since they were just 13 and 11 years old. On Saturday night, TV viewers saw the boys impress the judging panel with their version of Bob Dylan’s All Along The Watchtower, even earning a standing ovation from the crowd at the Edinburgh auditions.

The Price boys made the classic song their own, adding self-penned lyrics and even rapping: ‘We’re just two Irish kids, keeping it real, trying to make it to the top while we’re seeking a deal.’

After their audition, former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger told the brothers: ‘Your voice, Conor, is so amazing, I love it, and you’re 17! Seán, I feel like your voice complements his so well. The X Factor is having the “it” factor and to me you all have the “it” factor. Awesome.’

Louis Walsh agreed, saying: ‘Guys, absolutely brilliant. I mean so young and so authentic. Irish, obviously, that means an awful lot. You tick every box for me. This is the start.’

Alesha Dixon was also blown away, and said: ‘The minute you walked in you lit up the room and the most important thing is you made us feel something. When you were singing I genuinely felt emotion. That was beautiful, I couldn’t fault it.’

And Simon Cowell was bowled over by the boys. ‘Wow. This is probably one of the best auditions we’ve had,’ he said. ‘I’m going to say something to you guys. I don’t want to change a single thing from what I saw and heard today. And if somebody does, you come and talk to me and I mean it, because what I love about you is it all is coming from you, and this is rare, it’s really, really rare.

‘Every so often I sit in one of these auditions and I think, thank God we found people like you.’

Unsurprisingly, the brothers, pictured above, received four yeses.

But older brother Seán reveals they fell into singing accidentally.

Seán said: ‘When we first started singing, it was sort of an accident.

‘Conor was singing away in his room, I ran straight up and I was like, “You can sing, you can sing”.

‘He was like, “No way, I can’t”. So I got the guitar and we started singing a few songs, and we’re still singing.’
