Riddle me this... how to fill your form out right

- BY JIM MURTY

IESCAPED from the office for a couple of hours during the week to play a big kids’ game which offered Transatlantic prizes. Only it was a mind-boggling riddles competition along the lines of The Crystal Maze.

Now bearing in mind I got lost along both the Camino and its Italian equivalent with signs staring me in the face then you’ll not be surprised to know that I was about as much use to my team-mates as a chocolate fireguard.

They’d have been better off with the indomitable Mrs M who is of cartography stock.

The competition was run by Aer Lingus as part of their Happy Winter Escape Challenge and involved us having to solve puzzles before we could move from room to room. And all with the clock ticking.

Suffice to say that we did not get out before the hour was up and were locked out. I’ll spare the blushes of my team-mates, but try this riddle: An Editor of Entertainment Eoin Rumphy and Editor of Music Danny Ye McElhinn.

Thankfully, I do know my way to the Aer Lingus check-in desks and the Ryanair ones for that matter.

I have just returned from Fatima and have to confess that I might not have made it there without the services of both airlines who cleared up a little booking difficulty. To them and to my miracle worker at VisitPortugal, Celina, a big Obrigado.

Ryanair flies to Porto, Lisbon and Faro and Aer Lingus flies to Lisbon and Faro.

Aer Lingus’s Happy Winter Escape offers flights from Dublin to Europe from €29.99, so that’ll include Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Brussels, while Lisbon is from €34.99 and Barcelona is from €39.99. There are, of course, many more offers. For the frazzled family in front of us in the queue from Cork, try Amsterdam from €39.999 or Dusseldorf from €39.99.

Fares are one-way from October 1-October 31. Book by 25 September (www.aerlingus.com).

Now my next riddle is to fill out my form correctly. Now what is my full name again?
