Lady Gaga donating $1m to aid disaster relief efforts
LADY Gaga has proved she’s one of the most generous stars in the business.
The 31-year-old singer, pictured, took to Twitter on Saturday to announce that she was making a $1million donation to help relief efforts in the wake of several recent hurricanes and the Mexico City earthquake.
‘While praying every day, I’m also donating $1Mil to relief efforts for Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, José, Maria and the Mexico City earthquake,’ the pop start tweeted, adding a prayer emoji.
The singer received considerable praise from her fans, many of whom branded her the ‘queen of charity’ and a ‘generosity angel’.
Meanwhile, the star’s health appears to be improving day by day.
On September 14, Gaga was hospitalised for severe pain and had to postpone the European leg of her tour.
Gaga revealed she is dealing with the chronic illness fibromyalgia – a situation which will be detailed in her upcoming documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two.
The Mayo Clinic reports that the illness is a ‘disorder characterised by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues’.
Earlier this week the songstress gave a shout out to Beyoncé, who sent her some gifts while she was recuperating.
‘Not having a good pain day. Thank you honey B for sending me this comfy sweatshirt,’ she wrote in the caption for a photo of herself snuggled up in an Ivy Park hoodie.
‘Keeps me warm outside in a hammock so I can be w the trees, and the sky, and the sun and take deep breaths. Feel so lucky to have so much love,’ Gaga added.
