Ewan’s kissing his marriage goodbye
EWAN McGregor has reportedly split from his wife of 22 years – as pictures emerged of the actor kissing his co-star.
Mr McGregor, 46, was seen enjoying a romantic meal in London with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 32, who bears a striking resemblance to his estranged wife Eve Mavrakis.
It has been suggested the actor has been separated from his wife, with whom he has four children, since May.
The star has not been wearing his wedding ring in recent pictures on Instagram.
The last photo in which he wore it was in May – the same month Ms Winstead, his on-screen lover in US TV show Fargo, announced she had split from writer Riley Stearns, her husband of seven years.
And now Ms Mavrakis, 51, has been seen without her wedding ring, in the latest sign the couple’s marriage is over. The French production designer made a low-key appearance as she went for a walk in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday.
In the photos that emerged over the weekend, McGregor was seen gazing into Ms Winstead’s eyes, before she held his face and kissed him. An onlooker told The Sun they ‘seemed relaxed’ before they sped off on his motorbike.
The Scottish star escaped rumours of his marriage troubles with a trip to the Highlands on Saturday, where he seemed in high spirits when a fan spotted him on his motorbike.
The actor put his left hand in his pocket, hiding his ring finger, as he posed for a photo near Loch Lomond. Elizabeth Murphy posted a photo on Instagram of her friend with the star, captioned: ‘Chance meeting with Ewan McGregor. What a gent!’
The actor also enjoyed a dinner with a mystery woman while in the Highlands. A chef who served him in the Old Library Lodge in Arisaig said the star showed no signs of stress over the rumoured end of his marriage.
Chef Kyle Woolfenden said: ‘There was nothing untoward about any of it... We have no idea who the woman he was with is.’
