A SECTION of Anne Frank’s diary will be read aloud before all Italian matches this week after recent episodes of antisemiti­sm. The move comes after Lazio fans left stickers around the Stadio Olimpico depicting Anne — a German-born Jew killed in the Holocaust — wearing a Roma shirt after a match on Sunday. The readings will take place in the centre circle before all midweek Serie A, Serie B and Serie C matches, and before amateur and youth matches at the weekend. An image of Anne will be put on Lazio shirts for tonight’s game at Bologna.

LEICESTER will not go to the UK’s Court of Arbitratio­n for Sport in a bid to get Adrien Silva playing for them before January. Leicester and the FA failed to persuade FIFA to ratify Silva’s £22m deadline day move from Sporting Lisbon after paperwork was submitted 14 seconds late.
