Double K’s power through

- By BRIAN LOWRY

KILCORMAC/KILLOUGHEY made light work of Mount Leinster Rangers as they ran out comfortable 17-point winners and advanced to a Leinster final date with All-Ireland champions Cuala. The Offaly champions raised their game in Tullamore after midfielder Cillian Kiely was shown a straight red card five minutes before the break and a goal from James Gorman pushed them into a 1-8 to 0-4 half time lead. Gorman and Dan Currams then cut loose in the second half and by the time Mount Leinster Rangers had David Phelan sent off on 45 minutes, the game was already gone from the Carlow men. The opening half was competitive but after the restart, there was no denying the double Ks’ superiority with Gorman hitting 1-5 and Dan Currams 1-3.
