All bets are off! Bookies are expecting royal engagement
SHE’s had tea with Queen Elizabeth, got to know London... and may even be bringing her dogs over here.
So it’s no wonder – with Meghan Markle now relocated across the pond – that bookmakers last night suspended betting on her getting engaged to Prince Harry.
The US actress, who has been dating the prince, 33, since summer 2016, is thought to be moving into Harry’s cottage in Kensington Palace after reports she has quit her role in TV drama Suits.

Last night Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: ‘We have closed all betting on Harry and Meghan following rumours an announcement is imminent. With Meghan residing in London now it looks like their engagement announcement is coming sooner rather than later.’
Paddy Power was still offering odds of 2-1 on a 2018 wedding, and a spokesman said: ‘It looks like the Prince is in a hurry to marry, the way he and Meghan Markle are ramping things up.’
Ms Markle, 36, arrived in London earlier this week and was spotted shopping in the King’s Road in Chelsea on Tuesday. She has a new Volkswagen for motoring around the English capital, but she is still missing one or two vital things – her beloved rescue dogs.
She is said to be pining for beagle Guy and labrador-shepherd Bogart because they cannot move to England quarantine until they rules. have According complied to with the magazine Us Weekly, they have to be microchipped and given appropriate vaccinations, as well as having the correct paperwork. A source added: ‘Meghan has been really concerned with getting her dogs over to London. ‘The UK is extremely strict with animals and laws are very harsh. It’s been something she’s been worrying about since a London move was decided.’
