Johnson in command ahead of Hawaii finale

-

WORLD number one Dustin Johnson held a two-shot lead going into the final day of the Sentry Tournament of Champions. The American fired a seven-under-par 66 on the third day in Hawaii to move to the top of the leaderboard, with compatriot Brian Harman his closest challenger. Johnson’s one blemish of the day came with a bogey on the par-three 11th but he immediately followed that by holing a 65-yard pitch for eagle on the 12th. He had already picked up shots on the second, fifth and ninth and closed with further gains on the 14th and 15th and 18th. Rickie Fowler’s 68 left him 11 under alongside fellow American Jason Dufner, who had four birdies and two bogeys on the front nine alone in a fourunder 69. Overnight leader Marc Leishman tumbled away with a 76. THE Tennessee Titans were 21-3 down at the half but scored 19 unanswered points as they booked their ticket in the Divisional Round of the play-offs. Marcus Mariota (right) threw for two touchdowns — including one to himself — as the Titans saw off the Kansas City Chiefs 22-21 at the Arrowhead Stadium. PAUL FARBRACE insists England still have plenty to play for as the Ashes series enters its last day. England are 3-0 down and are heavy favourites to be 4-0 down at some point during day five, given they are 93 for four and trail by 210, with Australia still to bat. But coach Farbrace said: ‘You have days like that where the conditions and perhaps the game is against you but you don’t chuck the towel in,’ he said after a day when onfield temperatures reached 47 degrees.
