EMMY-NOMINATED writer Sharon Horgan has signed an exclusive two-year deal with streaming giant Amazon for her TV shows.

‘Sharon Horgan is one of the sharpest and most engaging actresses, writers, and directors working in television today,’ said Sharon Tal Yguado, Amazon’s head of scripted series.
‘We are thrilled she is expanding her collaboration with us at Amazon to create new ground-breaking content. Her strong creative voice and storytelling sensibility have resonated with audiences globally and will make for outstanding shows for our Prime members.’
The Co. Meath mother of two has been going through a golden period in her career with back-to-back shows Catastrophe and Divorce becoming international TV hits.
Her unique, searingly honest, sweary portrayals of 21st-century relationships have proved to be a winning formula for audiences around the globe.
In addition to her personal deal, the 47year-old’s entertainment company Merman – which she co-founded with Clelia Mountford – also signed a first look agreement with Amazon Studios.
Horgan and Mountford said: ‘Amazon is at the forefront of ground-breaking television and Merman is delighted to be part of their remit to create unique content.
‘The team at Amazon have supported us since the inception of Catastrophe and we are thrilled to be working together.
‘Also, all the free books and stuff is great.’
