We won FA Cup against all the odds... so keep believing!

- BEN WATSON Ben Watson was speaking to Adam Crafton

AFTER beating Bournemouth and West Ham, Wigan might be starting to dream again. Our 2013 FA Cupwinning team prove anything is possible. Our victory over Manchester City should rank with Sunderland in 1973 and Wimbledon in 1988. I would not swap that moment for anything. We were relegated a few days afterwards but ask anyone in that changing room if they’d trade the FA Cup for staying up and their answer would be the same. At home, we keep the shirt, medal, programme and ticket all framed. My son Reggie was three but he was there. He still tells everyone about the day his dad won the FA Cup. It was amazing. We were the underdogs, nobody believed we could do it but we did. Remarkably, I had broken my leg and missed every round except the final. The boys started to believe after defeating Everton 3-0 in the quarter-final at Goodison Park. We had lost 1-0 at City the month before but played really well and came away thinking we could beat them. Our manager Roberto Martinez is football-mad. He believed in us. We stuck to our principles and we were brave. Our keeper Joel Robles made a few saves but we came to dominate the match. To do that against a City team featuring Yaya Toure, David Silva and Sergio Aguero is extraordinary. As for my winning goal, I should not have even been in the box. I was supposed to be on the edge but City went with everyone back as they were down to 10 men. I made that decision myself to ghost in. And then it happened! It was lucky Aguero was on the back post and it looped over him. If it was anyone a bit taller, they might have kept it out. It is all a blur after that, the best moment in my football career.
