Kylie: I had nervous breakdown after split

- Irish Daily Mail Reporter

KYLIE Minogue has admitted she had a nervous breakdown after splitting from her toyboy fiancé last year.

The 49-year-old singer said she was ‘heartbroken’ over the break-up and fled to Thailand to ‘heal’ herself.

She and British actor Joshua Sasse, 30, split in February last year after two years together. She had even expressed her excitement at taking her fiancé’s name only days before confirming the news of their break-up on social media.

Speaking about the split, the Australian star said: ‘I just wanted to stop. I knew I needed to heal, my physical system was compromised. I think it’s called a nervous breakdown. I just thought, “no, no, no”.’

Ms Minogue has been linked to a string of dashing men, including French actor Olivier Martinez and Spanish model Andrés Velencoso, but has never wed.

The ex-Neighbours star admitted she has never worried about marriage, instead enjoying love and companionship. She told the Sunday Times: ‘I’ve never been that woman, that girl who dreams of walking down the aisle.’

She added: ‘You dust yourself off and you go through that period of “never again, not going to do it”.’

She was reported to have thrown Sasse out of her London home after becoming suspicious over his relationship with Spanish actress Marta Milans.

Ms Minogue and Sasse met in 2015 on the set of US TV show Galavant and announced their engagement in 2016.

Ms Minogue, who will be 50 in May, also opened up about the potential difficulties of having children later in life. She said: ‘Of course I wonder what that would be like but, your destiny is your destiny and I can’t imagine, if by some miracle I got pregnant … at this point in my life, I wonder, could I even manage that?’

The singer has since reportedly reunited with Martinez, 52, whom she dated for five years. Martinez married actress Halle Berry in 2013 but they split in 2015.
