Gordon Ramsay takes style tips from Mrs Doubtfire

-

HE’S known for his foul-mouthed rants and fiery attitude in the kitchen. But Gordon Ramsay showcased his comedic chops as he dressed up as famous nanny Mrs Doubtfire for an upcoming episode of Masterchef Junior on US TV.

Taking inspiration from the crossdressing character – played by Robin Williams in the hit 1993 film, pictured right – Ramsay, 51, donned a coiffed wig and retro reading glasses to talk to the child contestants. In scenes set to air in the States later this year, Gordon’s tough exterior melted away as he got into character, wrapping up in a frumpy cream cardigan.

The Michelin-starred chef, pictured left, was unrecognisable, as the usually muscular cook bulked out his waist with extra padding. Ramsay opted for a flowing red skirt and a white handbag, while he lined up next to prosthetically enhanced hosts Christina Tosi and Joe Bastianich on the Fox TV show. Christina rocked a short silver wig, while restaurateur Joe wore a nun’s habit.

The young contestants could apparently be heard shouting to Ramsay: ‘You look like Mrs Doubtfire!’ – which seemingly caused the stern chef to crack a smile.

The sneak peek at the hilarious segment aired during a quick rundown of what’s to come on the kid-centric cooking show.
