UNDESIRABLES such as the ones who looted Lidl are in the minority in working-class areas such as Tallaght. But nevertheless they are a symptom of a place left to social decay. Drug addiction and proper policing/funding would help turn such places around – if, of course, the political will was there.

PERHAPS Leo Varadkar should rename his beloved spin team the ‘Strategic Propaganda Unit’, or maybe even more appropriately, the ‘Not-So-Strategic Miscommunications Unit’.
