Bags of criticism for Coleen over competition win

COLEEN Rooney has prompted derision from her Twitter followers after announcing she had won a designer Gucci handbag worth more than €900 – which she intends to keep.

Referencing the stylish accessory, which was handmade in Italy, the mother of four boys, 31, pictured, took to her social media platform on Saturday to excitedly reveal: ‘Thank you so much @thecoolcard .... competition winner of this gorgeous bag!!’

With Coleen’s net worth being more than €16million – and her husband Wayne’s at €112million – her fans swiftly commented under the snap with their unimpressed thoughts, with many asking for her to donate the lavish item to charity.

Coleen’s delighted tone was clearly evident as she revealed the competition win, which was organised by The Cool Card, an exclusive members-only privilege card.

But her ‘cringing’ followers felt she didn’t need such an expensive item – with many expressing their opinion under the snap.

One said: ‘‘Really Coleen didn’t think you were that shallow to advertise your freebies “winner” really ? Stick to posting your lovely family pics.’ Another added: ‘This makes me cringe. Super wealthy privileged lady member of an exclusive private club (clearly for the super wealthy) wins a super expensive bag. Taking the p**s much?’

Another said: ‘Have to unfollow you now. Why does someone like you who can afford such items accept them and then decide to, as part of the deal, share it with all us plebs who can’t?’

And one user commented: ‘Pls donate it you really don’t need it, even auction it for a charity.’
