It’s awkward for television! Alicia won’t talk about her life as Mrs Fassbender

-

ALICIA Vikander has mesmerised with her looks and her acting abilities but what we are all wanting to know right now is... what’s it like to be married to hunky Michael Fassbender?

It seems the Tomb Raider actress though had no intentions of playing along on TV yesterday as Lorraine stand-in host Kate Garraway found to her cost.

The breakfast TV presenter had stepped in for a poorly Lorraine Kelly, but her questions to Alicia about her marriage to teh Kerry heart-throb didn’t go down well.

When Kate asked her about it, there were lots of silent moments and nodding, with the notoriously private actress, pictured, with Fassbender, saying: ‘Well, I’ve had the most happy year.’

Kate replied: ‘It suits you, being married.’

Alicia said nonchalantly: ‘I carry a smile on my face most of the time.’

Kate also said that she found that Michael was just as private about the relationship as Alicia is.

Alicia replied: ‘It’s a lovely thing to choose to be private, even though you’ve got this career.’

Some noticed the tension and wrote about it on Twitter, saying:

‘Lol at how much Alicia Vikander did not want to talk about Michael Fassbender. The silence and nodding said it all, leave her be. #lorraine.’

Another said: ‘Well that interview on ITV with #Aliciavikander wasn’t awkward at all! She obviously didn’t want to discuss Michael Fassbender so leave it alone. #gmb.’

The couple fell in love on the set of their movie The Light Between Oceans, which was filmed in 2014, but they did not make their debut together on a red carpet until the 2016 Golden Globe Awards. Things went from strength to strength and the pair, pictured above, went on to tie the knot in a destination wedding in Ibiza last year, with guests such as film director Steve McQueen.

Alicia, 29, and Michael, 40, relocated to Lisbon together last year. Speaking of the move, Alicia revealed to Elle magazine: ‘When I met my husband three and a half years ago, he had mentioned he’d been to Lisbon and loved it, and I knew friends who were moving out there. And that was a time when I was just starting to feel really at home in London.

‘But after Brexit I think I was like, “Meh, you know what, I want to stay in Europe.”’

Meanwhile, in lighter moments during her interview, Alicia spoke about her Tomb Raider role, which Angelina Jolie, 42, used to hold.

She said: ‘I grew up playing the game actually and saw Angelina Jolie up on the screen. It meant a huge amount back then to finally see a woman lead that kind of action film.

‘I could not lift my own weight when I started this film – I [needed] to get this kind of physique.’ However, she did say of her eight-pack: ‘It all goes away sadly, very quickly.’
