CAUSE OF SHOCK
Caused by loss of fluid from the circulation as a result of internal or external bleeding, or burns. Caused by the failure of the heart to pump effectively due to damage to the heart muscle. Caused by insufficient intravascular volume of blood. This form of shock is further classed as: I. septic; II. anaphylactic; and III. neurogenic. Caused by a colossal systemic infection. Caused by a severe reaction to an allergen (e.g. bee sting, nuts, etc). Caused by trauma to the spinal cord resulting in sudden loss of reflexes below the impact point of the injury. Caused by the obstruction of blood flow, resulting in circulatory arrest.
