Townsend hopeful Seymour and Hogg will make Dublin date

- ROB ROBERTSON

SCOTLAND head coach Gregor Townsend is sweating on the fitness of two of his biggest stars as he prepares to name his team to take on Ireland. Lions stars Tommy Seymour and Stuart Hogg will be given fitness tests this morning before Townsend picks his starting 15. Winger Seymour, one of the best finishers in the Scotland team, has yet to train after coming off injured in the win over England. Full-back Hogg (right) had his preparation for this weekend upset after he picked up a back injury of his own in training last week. He only returned to the fray yesterday at an indoor session. Out of the two, Hogg is the best bet to make it back, although Scotland winger Sean Maitland is confident Seymour will be fit. Townsend has an embarrassment of riches to pick from with centre Duncan Taylor, second row Richie Gray and hooker Fraser Brown all available again after injury.
