The division is responsible for most matters relating to An Garda Síochána, including developing legislation and overseeing the Garda reform programme.
BRIAN O’NEILL
BRIAN O’NEILL IS A CYBERSAFEIRELAND BOARD MEMBER AND RESEARCHER AT DIT. He is also a member of Ireland’s Internet Safety Advisory Council and is national coordinator for EU Kids Online. In 2013, he was appointed to the ICT Coalition for a Safer Internet for Children and Young People. Mr O’Neill has called for the establishment of a council for child internet safety.

REPRESENTED BY: TANYA WARD – CHIEF EXECUTIVE The charity says its aim is to ‘make Ireland one of the best places in the world to be a child’. Its policy is to ensure that children’s rights are respected and protected in laws, policies and services. The group receives government funding and in 2016 was given €299,675 – just under half its total funding.
ISPCC
REPRESENTED BY: GRAINIA LONG – CEO One of the country’s leading children’s charities, the ISPCC receives almost 80% of its funding via donations. But it also receives some funding from government bodies to deliver services on a contracted basis, and is provided with funds by corporate partners including Vodafone. The CEO, Ms Long, receives an annual salary of €115,000.
NATIONAL PARENTS COUNCIL PRIMARY
REPRESENTED BY: ÁINE LYNCH – CEO The NPCP has charitable status, and members include affiliated parent associations as well as individual parents and groups. In 2016 it received €183,000 in State funding representing 26% of its total funding that year. The Department of Education, the Department of Justice and the HSE all contributed.

REPRESENTED BY: ANTÓIN Ó LACHTNÁIN Digital Rights Ireland is a non-profit company that works towards ‘defending civil, human and legal rights in a digital age’. Its current campaigns include a reform in laws regarding mass surveillance and changes to the current copyright and intellectual property laws.
