‘Give us a long Good Friday’

-

PUBLICANS are tomorrow to appeal a District Court ruling that could stop them from getting extended hours on Good Friday.

Judge Michael Coghlan yesterday declined to grant a late bar extension in a test case in Dublin District Court on whether pubs in the city would be allowed serve alcohol after normal hours on March 30.

In January, the law was changed so pubs could open and serve alcohol on the religious holiday for the first time in almost 100 years. The judge’s refusal for extended opening hours is to be appealed in the Circuit Court tomorrow.
