Teen faces 17 murder counts

FLORIDA school shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz has been formally charged with 17 counts of first-degree murder.

It could mean a death sentence if he is convicted. A grand jury in Fort Lauderdale returned the indictment yesterday against Cruz, pictured, for the Valentine’s Day massacre.

The 19-year-old’s lawyer has said he will plead guilty if prosecutors take the death penalty off the table. A decision on this has not yet been announced.
