NME to scrap print edition
MUSIC magazine NME is to print its final edition this week as it is ‘no longer financially viable’.
The last issue will appear tomorrow – 66 years after the first – and the publication will then move to an onlineonly model. It had struggled financially, and in 2015 publisher Time Inc tried to save it by handing it out free.
Musicians paid tribute to the magazine. Lily Allen said: ‘RIP NME.’ Kasabian tweeted: ‘An icon is no more.’
