Problems persist for McLaren

MCLAREN’S preseason crisis deepened after Fernando Alonso missed nearly seven hours of testing following another car failure. With just two days of practice remaining before the season gets under way in Melbourne later this month, Stoffel Vandoorne broke down on three occasions in Barcelona yesterday and fewer than two hours had passed before two-time world champion Alonso stopped on track before 11am. The problem was diagnosed as an oil leak, but he didn’t emerge until the final minutes of the session.
