Heed wise warning

-

WHEN it comes to children and smartphones, this newspaper’s position is crystal clear. For anyone who still has doubts, you only have to look at Superintendent Declan Daly’s comments yesterday when he warned parents about the ‘range of crimes’ in relation to internet activity. The risks our children are exposed to and the potential damage are simply irrefutable.

Supt Daly is a member of the specialist Garda Protective Services Bureau. He knows what he’s talking about.

So knowing of those risks, and the knockon damaging effects, you would have to ask yourself why anyone would still think it is a good idea to give a smartphone to a child.
