‘Accidental’ fatal shooting probed

AUTHORITIES have said they are investigating a shooting at a US school, in which a 17-year-old female student was killed, as apparently accidental.

A boy, also aged 17, was injured in the incident at Huffman High School in Birmingham, Alabama.

Police chief Orlando Wilson said investigators are seeking to piece together the exact circumstances surrounding Wednesday afternoon’s shooting. ‘At this particular time, we are considering this accidental,’ he added. No arrests were reported.
