It’s a Seventies revival... how classy Susan, 71, has turned back the clock

-

SUSAN Sarandon has long been one of Hollywood’s most impressive women and she looks as though she is defying age itself. The acclaimed American actress, 71, appeared on ITV’s This Morning daytime chat show to discuss her documentary on late Hollywood film icon Hedy Lamarr, when fans of the show referenced how fantastic she looked.

Susan, pictured, also utilised the platform to discuss the current ‘sea change in Hollywood’ in light of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movement, which has deservedly seen ‘people being held responsible for their actions’.

Discussing how things have since changed since Hedy Lamarr’s time in the limelight in the Forties and Fifties, the star admitted: ‘Hollywood, it’s the most exaggerated version of self-awareness, in the physical sense.

‘I was even told when I started out that 40 would be the end and definitely don’t say you have kids because then you’re not very sexy,’ she revealed, before humorously adding: ‘Obviously it didn’t do anything to me.’

Speaking about not living in Los Angeles, Susan explained: ‘You do get the sense when you go to the grocery store and you’re picking up a head of lettuce that if you don’t have make-up on you could be losing work.’

As Susan carried on with interview, This Morning viewers proved to be in awe of her sensational good looks as they flocked to Twitter.

One viewer tweeted: ‘@susan Sarandon. What a lovely normal Hollywood star. I’m so impressed with her appearance on #thismorning.’

Another wrote: ‘I can’t believe Susan Sarandon is 71! #ThisMorning.’ While one more commented: ‘Oh my god Susan Sarandon I LOVE HER #ThisMorning.’

The iconic actress certainly looked sensational as she clad her figure in a quirky, printed blouse, which she teamed with brown trousers and a mustard coloured shawl.

And clearly determined to relay the message of transformation in Hollywood, Susan stated: ‘I think there’s a sea-change because people are being held responsible.

‘Again, I’m outside Hollywood a little bit but I know when we brought all our activists to the Golden Globes and there was a lot of talking with the other women, everybody was very much on the same page.

‘There’s definitely a difference. You have to hold accountable the people that facilitated everything too. These guys weren’t able to get away with this. There were women that spoke up that nobody listened to.’
