Liam’s cheesy Insta banter leaves Cheryl cold

IT has been claimed that he is more committed to his pop career than his relationship with Cheryl Tweedy in recent weeks.

And it seems like Liam Payne, 24, is also more devoted to a cheeseburger than the songstress, 34, as he took to Instagram in an incredibly awkward conversation under Sam Smith’s picture which saw him chowing down on fast food.

After the former Girls Aloud star hailed Smith’s burger for being ‘the best’, Liam cheekily replied: ‘I think I would probably give you away for one of those right now... s***!! Did I just type that out loud?’ - leaving Cheryl completely silent.

The pair – who put on an incredibly lovedup display at the BRIT Awards last month to put rumours of their relationship demise to rest – couldn’t help but fall victim to the incredibly awkward Instagram exchange – fuelled by Liam.

The former One Direction star’s cheeky comment about trading Cheryl for a cheeseburger was met with icy silence from his other half.

While Cheryl didn’t respond, Sam commented back: ‘It was GLORIOUS.’

Continuing his quest in getting Cheryl’s attention Liam continued: ‘Good job I pressed the reply button as well @cherylofficial.’

The awkward exchange comes after fresh reports that Liam’s career is causing a further wedge between him and Cheryl. According to The Sun, the star is the one who has ‘gone cold’ on their romance, after spending much of his time away from the singer and their baby son to promote his debut album.

Representatives for both Liam and Cheryl have been approached for comment.
