MAKE OR BREAK FOR MEATH

WE’RE only two months in, but already Meath’s season is arriving at a point that worryingly looks ‘make or break’ — and a defeat by Cork in Navan tomorrow will leave a gloom that will be desperately hard if not impossible to blow away. Losing to mighty rivals of old will be bad, but on the heels of heavy back-to-back defeats by Cavan and Tipperary there might be nowhere to turn for the team, with relegation to Division 3 a possibility, and a daunting Championship lying in wait. Which is why I expect the team to officially burst a gut, even at this early point in the year, and win by fair means or foul.
