Best Day of her life! Nadia’s getting hitched
MODEL Nadia Forde has announced her engagement to her ‘Prince Charming’ – Welsh rugby star Dominic Day.
The loved-up pair have been together for more than three years and the model shared the news with her fans on Instagram.
The 28-year-old was on a romantic getaway with her beau in New York when the Saracens player popped the question.
Posting a snap of the couple in Central Park, the former I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here contestant added the simple caption: ‘NYC with my Hubby to be.’
And the Dublin beauty gave a glimpse of the diamond rock on her ring finger in a selfie.
Adding that she was ‘on cloud 9’, the singer smiled for the camera as fans rushed to congratulate the couple.
The loved-up pair met through mutual friends Ireland and Munster rugby legend Peter Stringer and his wife Debbie, shortly before Nadia’s mother Berenice died of cancer in 2015.
Their love survived a long-distance relationship when the 32-year-old athlete played with international rugby teams while Nadia travelled to pursue her singing carer.
He joined Japanese Top League side Toyota Verblitz in June 2016 for one season and then Super Rugby side Melbourne Rebels for another.
‘What’s tough is going from living with someone to not living with them for a stint. We make it work. It’s our jobs and we both want to work,’ Nadia said of their geographic separation. ‘He would never stand in my way.’
Nadia and her younger brother Stephen, who are of Italian descent, were raised by their grandmother after their parents split when the actress was eight years old.
The beautiful brunette made her name as a photocall model in Dublin before breaking into TV and trying her had at pop singing.
She was a regular on RTÉ sketch show Republic of Telly and also appeared in reality TV3 show Celebrity Salon and has made two reality documentary shows: Nadia Goes To Hollywood and Nadia: Chasing The Dream.
She also appeared on TV3’s Celebrity MasterChef alongside the likes of Niamh Kavanagh and Sonia O’Sullivan.
