THEY are the latest online sensations and can earn €1,000 a day.
For some of these dogs can boast more followers on Instagram and Facebook than human celebrities such as Paul Hollywood or even Oscar nominee, Saoirse Ronan.
And they have been starring at this year’s Crufts, which has just come to an end. Some were at the competition to compete, others were invited by sponsors and charities purely for their star statuses online.
They posed with fans and even appeared on their own blogs from the show.
Ramsey, a Staffy, is claimed to be one of the most famous dogs, with 200,000 followers. His famous fans include Paul O’Grady and Patrick Stewart.
Layla Flaherty, who runs an animal talent and casting agency, said: ‘The most well-trained, obedient dogs, who can work to scripts for TV projects or adverts, can be the main bread-winners for their owners. They could be on set for ten days, earning €1,000 per day.
‘The money they can get for a social media post ranges from €250 to thousands, depending on the number of followers they have. Cute always sells.’
