McGraw on the mend after stage collapse at Dublin show

-

TIM McGraw is said to be on the mend after he collapsed on stage during a performance in Dublin’s 3 Arena on Sunday night. The country singer had just got to the end of his hit Humble & Kind when he dropped to his knees and sat down.

McGraw’s wife Faith Hill, 50 – a fellow country singer, pictured with her husband – addressed the crowd to inform them about his condition.

‘He’s been super dehydrated. I apologise, but I made the decision that he cannot come back out onstage,’ she told attendees at the concert.

McGraw, 50, was performing in Dublin as part of the Country to Country festival.

A rep for the singer said in a statement to fans: ‘Tim McGraw was suffering from dehydration in Dublin this evening at the C2C show.

‘He was attended to by local medical staff on-site and will be fine. He and Faith thank everyone for their love and support and look forward to seeing their Irish fans again soon.’

According to Rolling Stone, McGraw had performed on Friday night in London as part of C2C, a three-day, three-city country-music event. McGraw and Hill were the headliners on the opening night of the festival at London’s O2 arena.

McGraw kissed his wife’s hand as they walked out on stage for the first performance of their Soul2Soul tour outside the US and later introduced her to the crowd as ‘my wife, Mrs McGraw’.

His next scheduled concert is on May 31 in Richmond, Virginia, US, as part of the Soul2Soul Tour with Hill.

Recently, McGraw made headlines as being one of the few mainstream country artists to speak up in support of gun control in the US.

On March 3, he tweeted praise for the decision by sporting-goods chain Dick’s to raise the minimum age for a firearm purchase to 21.
