DÉISE BATTLE THE ODDS
IT SEEMS the odds are being stacked against the Waterford hurlers. The fairness of the Munster Championship is at issue when one team has to forfeit the right to its two home games in a round-robin format, due to the redevelopment work needed at Walsh Park. And then there’s the added unfairness of being the only county in the province that has to play four Championship matches in 21 days — by virtue of being the only team with a bye in the first round. An extra week should have been incorporated into the schedule in Munster and Leinster, where Wexford are in the same boat.
