‘A gust of wind carried me 12ft’

-

A FURNITURE delivery man was carried a distance of 12ft (3.5metres) and was injured when a mattress he was carrying was caught in a gust of wind, the High Court has heard.

Declan Homan is suing employer Etmar Ltd, of Leixlip, Co. Kildare, claiming the company failed to provide him with equipment to handle the load.

Mr Homan, of Island Lodge, Co. Offaly, argues that he has been unable to work since the accident in December 2011. His employers accuse Mr Homan, who sued for damages after previous road accidents, of ‘gross exaggeration’. The case continues.
