Was Selena’s mom behind her split from Bieber?

SELENA Gomez has been throwing herself into her fashion work following her latest split from Justin Bieber which might just be music to her mother’s ears.

Mandy Teefy was initially blamed for coming between the celebrity couple.

An insider though has insisted that Selena ‘wouldn’t base her relationship off of what her mom thinks,’ adding that the couple have ‘always been on and off’.

They weren’t ruling out a reunion between the couple, pictured left, however.

‘They’ve been having disagreements, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they’re back together in a week,’ the source continued.

Selena’s mother Mandy had expressed her disapproval in a statement to GossipCop. com earlier this year.

Speaking to the site in January, Teefy said she’s ‘not happy’ with the relationship but that ‘Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy.’

Canadian pop singer Bieber, 24, appeared to be in an emotional state when he stepped out in Los Angeles. The What Do You Mean singer was seen hiding his head in his hands while waiting in his Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon during a day with his father Jeremy.

Although People’s source was adamant that Selena’s mother had nothing to do with the break-up, another source close to the family told Us Weekly: ‘Selena and Justin decided to take a break mainly because of Selena’s mom and her disapproval of Justin. Justin’s family loves Selena, but Selena’s family has put her in a very conflicting spot because they still don’t trust Justin.’
