ROMA THROUGH TO LAST EIGHT AFTER TIGHT WIN

ROMA reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in a decade after a 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk last night. The Italian club progressed on away goals after losing 2-1 in the first leg. Edin Dzeko scored the only goal of the game in Rome, as Shakhtar saw defender Ivan Ordets shown a straight red card for a challenge on the former Manchester City striker . The Italian club will now be dreaming of a first final in the European Cup since losing in their own stadium to a Bruce Grobbelaar-inspired Liverpool in 1984.
