MURPHY GIVES SLIGO HOPE OF SURVIVAL

A FREE from Niall Murphy deep in injurytime rescued a draw for Sligo after they came from behind to share the spoils with Offaly in Division 3 of the National Football League. Offaly led 0-4 to 0-2 at half-time, with both teams reduced to 14 men, but Sligo came to the fore in the closing 20 minutes to outscore Offaly 0-5 to 0-2 and claim a point. Both sides are still in relegation trouble and it will all come down to the final day next Sunday with Offaly, on three points, facing Westmeath and Sligo (four points) and Derry (four points) also playing for their Division 3 survival.
