QUESTION

DEAR Linda, Something has been bothering me for some time now. I took early retirement a couple of years ago after an accident in the work place, and while I do have more time on my hands than when I was employed, I find friends disregard my time very much.

They make arrangements to meet up and without even a word let me down at the last minute. I am angry and frustrated and while I value my friendships very much, I am loyal and reliable and would never treat them in this manner.

It might seem trivial but it is becoming a big thorn in my side. What can I do to bring about a solution, without losing friends? Sincerely, J

ANSWER

DEAR J, I am not surprised that you are angry and frustrated, as nobody likes to be taken for granted. Time is precious, especially as we get older, and it is something we cannot gain back.

Rather than losing precious friendships, it is best to speak out directly and make your feelings known. Your true friends and the people who really care about you will respect you for it.

It may also be that time in your life where you figure out who your true friends are. Mutual respect is of the utmost importance in any friendship and that is what will sort out true friends from acquaintances.

FIRST CARD: TRANSFORMATION

YOU are experiencing enormous change right now, which brings great blessings. As you go through this period of change, it’s natural for you to wonder if your future is safe. The angels are here to assure you that you are part of nature’s cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. To bring in your desired newness, you must first allow old parts of your life to fall away.

These changes are to be celebrated, not feared. Give thanks for the shedding of the old. Embrace all of the lessons it brought, and let it go. Be giddy with excitement at the newness of the gifts that are now being bestowed upon you.

ADVICE/OBSTACLE: INTENTION

YOUR intentions create your experiences. What do you intend to happen? Make sure that your thoughts and feelings reflect your true intentions. By drawing this card the angels ask you to take an inventory or your expectations.

What do you expect to happen today, tomorrow, or in the future? These expectations are the seeds of your intentions. An intention means that you have set a goal and intend to achieve it. Your intention drive your experiences. The angels ask you to choose and infuse your intentions with love.

See yourself and others as happy, successful, and peaceful. By holding these spiritually minded intentions, you help yourself and others. The angels can help you replace negative mental habits with more empowering thoughts, if you ask for their assistance.

OUTCOME: EMERGING

YOUR true self — radiant, powerful, successful, and intelligent — is now shining through. Allow your true self to be visible to others, for you lift them up and inspire them. You are awesome in so many ways, and you are beginning to trust and reveal your true nature more easily.

At one time, you may have believed that you had to hide your feelings from others (or even from yourself). Now, however, you realise how vital and attractive expressing your authentic self is. Your angels are guiding you to honour your true feelings by expressing them to yourself and others.

The angels will help you lovingly talk about your feelings so that no misunderstandings occur with friends and loved ones. Your angels will never guide you to do or say anything that could hurt you or anyone else. They will ensure that your life will emerge to inner peace as you let your true self come out to play.
