Cruel trolls are hounding a mother whose two-year-old died in river
POLICE in Wales are investigating internet trolls who are hounding the parents of a two-year-old girl who drowned.
Kiara Moore died when the Mini she was left in rolled down a slipway and into a river.
Detectives are investigating Monday’s tragedy and have urged the public ‘not to speculate’ on the circumstances.
But heartless critics have used Facebook to accuse parents Kim Rowlands, 25, and 40-year-old Jethro Moore of neglect. The comments were left on a Facebook page set up by Kiara’s family for wellwishers to leave tributes.
One online critic told Mr Moore he ‘needs executing’, adding: ‘The... mother needs arresting.’
Another wrote online: ‘You can be the best parent in the world and make many mistakes along the way. But one that is unforgivable is leaving your children for any amount of time which can put them at risk. Sorry, basic rule book.’
The tragedy happened when the car rolled into the River Teifi in Cardigan, west Wales, while Kiara’s mother popped in to the office of her partner’s outdoor activities firm. The couple initially called police as they thought the vehicle had been stolen with the child inside. It was later found in the river by rescue teams.
One line of inquiry is that the electronic handbrake on the newly-bought Mini either failed or was not activated.
