Vogue set to keep it vague when decorating nursery

- By Amy Mulvaney

VOGUE Williams has revealed that she wants a ‘gender-neutral’ nursery when she has her first baby on September 1.

The Irish model and TV presenter and her fiancé Spencer Matthews have begun working on the nursery and have rejected the traditional ‘pink for a girl, blue for a boy’.

Vogue revealed in an interview with Hello! TV that they don’t know the gender of the baby, and didn’t want to be limited in choosing colours.

‘I like that idea for a nursery; I don’t like the idea of pink for a girl, blue for a boy. I want it to be so anyone can go in there,’ she said. Describing her plans for the nursery, she added: ‘Maybe like this amazing tropical wallpaper. I don’t know if Spencer’s into it. Green and white tropical wallpaper I think would be amazing.’

The 32-year-old said they’ve bought ‘quite a lot’ of clothes for the new arrival, adding: ‘I just couldn’t help myself.’

Former Made In Chelsea star Spencer said: ‘Every single time we’re apart from one another, which is rare, and we pass any sort of shop that sells baby clothes, it’s carnage.’

Spencer’s family came under the spotlight last week when his father, David Matthews, was taken into custody following allegations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl in Paris in the late Nineties.

A spokesperson for the family said David Matthews ‘categorically denies the allegation’.
