Man used girl, 14, ‘like a puppet’ to perform sex acts
A PAEDOPHILE who blackmailed a 14-year-old into sex after, on his instruction, she sent him naked photos on her smartphone, has been jailed for three years.
Agricultural contractor, Alan Feehily, 27, who has a fetish for young girls in uniform, was found to have naked photos and videos of the victim on his own phone when he was raided by gardaí.
In a victim impact statement, the girl said he had used her ‘like a puppet’ to perform degrading sexual acts. Galway Circuit Criminal Court heard he created a set of rules for her, including that she had to reply to his calls and texts within ten minutes. The abuse was uncovered when she went to a friend’s birthday party where there was no mobile phone coverage. Feehily became so aggressive because she didn’t reply to his calls that night that she finally confided in her aunt about the abuse.
He was subsequently arrested and his phone seized.
Feehily was yesterday sentened by Judge Rory McCabe to four years in prison with the final year suspended.
Feehily from Milebush, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, was described as ‘pure evil’ by his victim.
He groomed the girl and progressed to using threats of violence and blackmail to coerce her into performing sexual acts.
He made her take sexually explicit pictures and videos of herself and used the content to further blackmail her.
Feehily pleaded guilty in court last November to four sample charges of defilement of a child aged under 15 at various locations in Co. Galway on dates between January 1, 2013 and October 12, 2014, while the facts in another nine similar charges were admitted.
Garda Adrian Fehily told the initial sentence hearing in January that Feehily began bringing the girl to school in his car and drove her to various locations before using threats of violence to get her to perform sexual acts on him while she was wearing her school uniform.
One day, Feehily demanded the girl have full sexual intercourse with him after he had collected her from school.
He was interviewed six times and, at all times, claimed the sex was consensual.
In her victim impact statement, the girl, who was present in court in January, said: ‘While my friends were all having fun, I was being forced every day, like a puppet, into degrading sexual acts. He was pure evil.’
