Amanda and her girl pretty in pink at Baftas

IT was a family affair on the red carpet at last night’s Bafta TV awards – and a rather Irish affair in the winners’ enclosure.

Amanda Holden arrived at the Royal Festival Hall in London hand-in-hand with her 12-year-old daughter Alexa.

Her Britain’s Got Talent co-star Declan Donnelly was in good spirits as he stepped out with his pregnant wife Ali Astall, who showed off her blossoming baby bump in a fitted silver sequin gown.

This was Donnelly’s first red carpet appearance without his presenting partner Ant McPartlin, who took a step back from his TV career following his drink driving shame in March.

At the business end of things, Co. Cavan star Brían F O’Byrne took home the Best Supporting Actor gong for his role in the crime drama Little Boy Blue. He claimed the award ahead of fellow Irish nominee Adrian Dunbar.

Graham Norton won Best Entertainment Performance, while Peaky Blinders – which stars Norton’s fellow Corkonian Cillian Murphy in the lead role – was named Best Drama Series.

However, despite numerous nominations, Sharon Horgan went home empty-handed last night. The Co. Meath actress and writer was up for Best Female Performance in a Comedy for her role in Catastrophe, against Anna Maxwell Martin in Motherland, which Ms Horgan also wrote. However, they both lost to Daisy May Cooper for This Country.

Ms Horgan’s Catastrophe, which she wrote with US comedian Rob Delaney, was also beaten to the Best Scripted Comedy award by This Country.

Best actress was Molly Windsor for her role in BBC1 drama Three Girls, which told the story of the Rochdale grooming scandal, while best actor was Sean Bean, 59, for his role as a priest in another BBC1 drama, Broken.
