Hostile restaurant boss fined €10,000

A RESTAURATEUR has been spared a possible 12-month jail sentence, but he and his restaurant were each fined €10,000 for obstructing an inspection of his employment records on June 15, 2017.

Dublin District Court heard an inspector from the WRC feared he would be punched or headbutted by its director Xiao Jin Xu at Tropica M&J Ltd, trading as Tropica, 3C Castle Street, Dalkey, Co. Dublin.

Xiao of Southpoint, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow, also faced related charges, but was spared jail.
